Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, grandma’s & “mother type figures” at our centres.

As we celebrate these amazing women, we remember that all mums have different struggles at different times and are in need of support. The old saying “It takes a village to raise a child” is so true, and it’s something that, in our western society, is often lacking.

Here is a link to a great article from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority on the importance of having a village around you. ‘It takes a village to raise a child’: The role of community – Part 1 | ACECQA.

If you are struggling to find that village, let us help you. We, at Young Discoverers, have chaplains who are happy to talk to you and point you to some great places to find your village. We would also love to be a part of your village. Childcare Centres, like Young Discoverers, have the great privilege of being a part of that village. We are always here to help…
