Excursion Routes

Upper Coomera - Lakeside

Transport Information
We will be using the Young Discoverers Mini Busses.  Children under 7 years of age will be required to sit on booster seats.
We cater for up to 30 children.
Our excursion Ratio is 1:8.
Risk assessments- including transport risk assessment, available on request.

Bus capacity, not including Driver
Helensvale mini busses (3 available): 11 passengers, 10 booster seats each (YD Driver and supervisor on each Bus)  Max 10 children x 2

 

Daily School Run

Date of Excursion: Twice Daily during School Terms

Upper Coomera State College (137 Reserve Raod, Upper Coomera Q 4209)

Highland Reserve State School (570 Reserve Road, Upper Coomera Q 4209)

Approx. 35 minutes round trip

  • Before School Care will depart from the centre at 8:20am each day arriving at UCSC at approx. 8.35… HRSS  at approx. 8:45am.
  • After School Care will depart UCSC at approx 2.45pm, arriving at HRSS at approx. 2.55pm and then delivering all collected children back to the centre at approx. 3.15pm each day.

NB: Sometimes, depending on family bookings, it may be necessary to collect children enrolled at our sister centre, Young Discoverers OSHC The Well (YD OTW), 58 Highland Way, Upper Coomera for delivery to Upper Coomera State College.  On these days, the Route will be added to slightly…  

Route:

  • Exit the Centre
  • (If also collecting UCSC Children enrolled at YD OTW, we will turn right at the roundabout at Reserve Road, taking the second exit  into Highland Way where we will collect the YD OTW children)
  • Turn Left into Reserve Road
  • Continue on turning Right at roundabout into Reserve Road
  • Upper Coomera State College will be on the Right
  • Collection of UCSC Children
  • Exit Upper Coomera State College
  • Turn Left into Reserve Road
  • Veer left at roundabount into Reserve Road
  • Continue on Reserve Road
  • Highland Reserve State School Car Park will be on the Right
  • Collection of HRSS Children
  • Exit Highland Reserve State School
  • Turn Left into Reserve Road
  • At the roundabout take the second exit onto Rose Valley Drive
  • Turn Right into Centre Car Park at 25 Rose Vally Drive, Upper Coomera
  • Completing round trip…

Approx. 90 minutes each way

Depart OSHC Lakeside approx. TBA, Arrive @ destination approx  90 mins later

Leave destination @ TBA; Arrive back @ OSHC Lakeside @ approx. 90 mins later

Route:

  • Take Rose Valley Dr to Reserve Rd
  • Follow Reserve Rd and Old Coach Rd to Billinghurst Cres
  • Continue on Billinghurst Cres to Days Rd
  • Take Foxwell Rd to Railway Rd in Coomera
  • Drive to Railway Rd

    Then in reverse on the way back

 

 

Broadwater Parklands

Date of Excursion: 02/07/2024
Broadwater, Southport

Approx. 30 minutes each way

Depart OSHC Lakeside approx. 10.00am, Arrive @ destination approx 10.30am

Weather permitting leave destination @ approx 2.00pm ; Arrive back @ OSHC Lakeside @ approx. 02.30pm

Route:

  • Take Reserve Rd to Tamborine Oxenford Rd/State Route 95
  • Follow Tamborine Oxenford Rd/State Route 95 to Michigan Dr in Oxenford
  • Get on Pacific Mwy/M1 in Helensvale
  • Continue on Pacific Mwy/M1. Drive from State Route 10 to Southport
  • Merge onto Pacific Mwy/M1
  • Use the left 2 lanes to take exit 66 for State Rte 10/Smith St towards Southport
  • Continue onto State Route 10
  • Drive to your destination

Then in reverse on the way back

 

Paradise Point Parklands

The Esplanade, Paradise Point

Approx. 25 minutes each way

Depart OSHC Lakeside approx. 10.30am, Arrive @ destination approx 11.00am

Weatgher permitting leave destination @ approx 2.00pm ; Arrive back @ OSHC Lakeside @ approx. 02.30pm

Route:

  • Take Reserve Rd to Tamborine Oxenford Rd/State Route 95

  • Follow Tamborine Oxenford Rd/State Route 95 and State Route 4 to Sunbird Ave in Paradise Point

  • Take Abalone Ave to The Esplanade

    Then in reverse on the way back
